Clint first fell in love with the property as a teenager while working on the grounds for the former owners Lacy and Barbara Hall. In 1999, he was able to purchase the original homeplace from the Halls and resided there until 2014. After completely remodeling the home and landscaping the 10-acre compound, he decided to offer it as a vacation rental and special event center. The Waterfront Oasis is the name of the original home. Once you see it you will agree that the name fits the setting. The Lodge at Longpine was built adjacent to The Waterfront Oasis in 2010. Since completion it has served as both a vacation rental and special events venue providing a 5-star facility for travelers to use as an alternative to staying in a hotel and a first-class facility for gatherings, weddings, family reunions, corporate functions and so on. Clint and Rebecca met at the Lodge at Longpine in 2011
and got married on the property shortly thereafter. Since then they have built a 3rd Vacation rental "The Bamboo Bungalow" in 2013 and their personal residence in 2015. In 2016 the couple purchased a 4 th piece of Property in Elon NC from a family friend and have converted it into another vacation rental offering. Smith Farm at Elon opened for business in June of 2017 and has been a big hit especially with parents of Elon University students coming to visit their children. Clint has been a longtime resident of Alamance County moving up from Florida in 1968 when his father was hired as the executive director of the YMCA. He attended Elon Elementary, Elon Middle school, Western Alamance, and Elon University where he was a member of both the 1980 and 1981 National Championship football teams. Being the son of a Y director, Clint grew up playing sports and enjoying the outdoors. Gardening, camping, working on the property! Want to find him, outside is where he will be. Clint spent many years in sales for
several different companies but has retired from corporate America to focus on managing and expand the vacation properties. Rebecca is a native of Toledo Ohio and moved to North Carolina to attend Greensboro College. She fell in love with North Carolina and has lived here ever since. Rebecca is employed as a Special Education teacher and is passionate about educating children with special needs.
Both Rebecca and Clint have enjoyed creating for their guest an environment that is both peaceful and luxurious. The entire property is surrounded by Bamboo providing a very private and Tranquil feel.
